Good result Rod.
Great to get a report on the Rigby.

Mate, I'd love to get out bush with her but that is unlikely to happen until very late this year. But, I'll roll a couple of hundred cartridges for her and get to know her on the range. We'll be both pretty familiar with each other by the time she gets out bush. Hopefully a scrub bull and a few pigs in late November. But I've got limited leave and heaps to do.

Cheers

Well, I took the DSB to the range yesterday to confirm zero on the scope and to make a slight adjustment to the irons. She now sitting in the safe ready and waiting for a trip up North, hopefully.

Anyway here a a couple of photos:

I had to remove the scope from the mounts and ended up moving her a bit forward from where I originally had her. I think it's about right now.

Thought that it may affect zero slightly. I was wrong...there was a significant change to POI. A few rounds to adjust and then a quick 3 shot group with 300 RNSP Woodleighs pushed by 79 grains of 2209.

Nearly fell off the seat when I looked through the spotter.   So I decided to shoot 3 x 300 Woodleigh solids also with 79 grains of 2209. First one felt good and it was. So sat down and fired 2 more shots to complete the string of 3. Shots felt good but I it's obvious that I didn't do my part when building my position. Anyway. still very happy. Sights then moved 1 click up and 1 click right.

Then, the scope came off and I got to adjusting the irons. Set them at 50 yards and was very happy. So I thought I'd fire a few shots at 100 yards. First 2 and I was :D  Then I thought I'll fire a third. :shifty: pulled it low right. Bugger so I fire a fourth, damn high, left. I must be getting soft as I mature. Just on 40 rounds down range over the bench and I'm developing a flinch.  I was a bit pissed with my self and then I thought what the hell...thats good enough.

This Rigby is a bloody ripper !!

Looking good.

I thought I was developing a flinch with the 400gr RNSP with 82gr of 2209 but between the concussion off the bench I don't notice it anymore

A load like that is a bit like boxing, every blow kills some brain cells off.
I guess that's why the more you shoot it then the less you care about the boot
