I had the hc500 but it stopped transmitting after a few months. Then it won't upload the dat file. See how this goes.

I'd love t buy a few cheap ones that work, I loose too many to buy the dear ones.

Well tonight I found the firmware for the HC500G. Now its recording the right time and a few times I get the bars, but then they stop and it doesn't transmit. I'm not sure why. It should display the carrier when it has signal strength but it doesn't. Anyway it will still work without cellular and at least give the right time of day the photo was taken.

Yes it is. I might get the 4G model later this year . With the warmer weather ill be expecting a few more. Ive seen a herd of 5 last month so might set one of the stands up there.
