Swing/Pivot mount options

Post by KO301 »

Hi,

What is your favorite swing/pivot mount???

I would like to use 2 of my scopes on my Savage 220 slug gun which utilize the same scope mount as Savage 110 round receiver.

I would like to use my Zeiss 1.5~4.5x18 on driven hunts and Swaro Z5 3.5~18x44 on other hunts. It'll be nice to be able to interchange between these 2 scopes.

I have found EAW, MAK, and Recknagel mounts so far. Are all of these equally reliable?

This Savage slug gun is becoming a serious money pit but I won't be able to get a rifle for 9 more years so I'll make it as close to a rifle as I can.

Any good quality qd rings and rail etc should do, a slug gun isn't accurate enough that you would notice any minor POI change.
I'm soft and I don't care.

I used EAW pivot mounts when I had Sauer rifles. I never had any issues with return to zero.

This, I'd be looking at https://warnescopemounts.com/product/m6 ... ical-rail/ - ugly but practical, especially if the scopes require different ring positions.

Recknagel would probably make a pivot mount but I'd predict you'd have to find someone to fit it.

Doesn't the Savage 220 have weaver bases built into the receiver?
If so a couple of sets of Warn or Leupold qd rings should do the job.

Savage 220 action has screw holes for mounts but mine did not come with a base.

I use leupold base with dual dovetail rings.

Well, I guess I solved the problem. I sold my Swaro Z5 so I'll never have to worry about accuracy of my slug gun anymore XD
