Leica Geovid 10x42 HD-B 3000 Binocular

Post by deerhunter338mag »

Got hold of some new Leica HD-B 3000 binoculars on Friday. First impression was WTF!  as there’s not cheap. Bit of mucking around and I’ve started to work the ballistic program side of it. They have an on line ballistic calculator you set the program up with using your bullet data, then you just save it to a micro USB card and then to the binos. There very light and comfy to hold. The range finder is the fastest I’ve ever used . Just need to get out and give it a test run.

Very nice mate, they look pretty sweet  . I've got the older Geovid model which I really like, but I'm thinking of upgrading to these or the Swaro EL range binos. Let me know what you think of them. O'Reillys are a Leica agent, I might pop in there soon to have a look thru a pair. :handgestures-thumbup:

Fingers crossed they have one in stock as there is only a few pairs in the country atm. If you’re happy with the ones you have, you’re going to love these little beauties. The ballistic program makes it very easy to take your shot with hold over or use their ballistic program to work it out for you. There a great game changer.

Just picked up a pair myself but without the ballistic program. Very happy with them so far abut the real test will be when the season opens on the 1st of September. I really expect them to make a difference with less messing around switching between binos and a separate range finder. They were also €1,000 euro cheaper than the Swarovski. I also got a new Miley Freak Bino harness to go with them that I’m impressed with so far, but like the binos the season will properly test them.

The 3000 release has improved the price of the 2200 version significantly. I went for the HD-b 2200 in 10x. Pretty amazing kit. Saved $1000 vs the 3000.

They will serve you well.
I had a look at the 8x42 a little while ago, they are very nice,
If I had $4350 I probably would have got the x10.
Out to 1100 metres they will do the lot (except wind) give you click values, etc.
Enjoy

They look awful nice. FWIW, one of the local hunting mags reviewed a bunch of these recently, incl. the Swaro and Zeiss. The Leica's got the highest scores but IIRC were the most expensive. I still use the old monocular Leica RF and love it - but there is no way one of these wouldn't be better for spotting game.

Just playing with the program and been G1 it gets tricky as i'm use to G7. I've set it up now so I just need to test it in the field. (good chance its wrong  ) I've gone with the 338lapimp to test it 1st, and once I get my head around it, Ill work on the 300wm and the 243 barrels. I'm not expecting miracles after 750-800 meters with it, but ill give it a try. It reads in click value and my NF scopes values are in moa. So it will just be a quick calculation to take the shot. Once I get it spot on Ill just make a quick reference card which will be super fast.

You will love them. I also have the Geovid HD 15x56 in meters and there just amazing glass. But these new ones are fantastic and the range finder is super quick to give out a reading.
