Roe deer

Post by Olsen »

Roe deer back leg, without bone, rolled and tied....
Image
A little butter in a hot pot, browned all over, then put a little water, and let it stay one hour, with low heat.

Potatoes in the oven, one hour.

Nice and tender.

Great dinner again.

Magnificent dinner. Low heat cooking is a favourite of mine as well.

Looks great Olsen, I have to say out of the venison I've tasted, red, sika, fallow and roe, roe is my favorite. But maybe that's because we don't have them here and I only get some when hunting abroad. Or maybe like the old saying goes, "what's seldom is wonderful"

A friend of mine would say: "Tastes so good, you can't sit still when you eat it."

Is that cooked the whole time on the stove or put in the oven after browning?

Looks very juicy and tender.
