The right way to cook a rabbit.

Post by SPEEDY »

Well one of them anyway
Bunny is a highly under rated meat to most people, but it's the equal of venison and pork any day of the week.

1st, shoot and dress a rabbit, cut off the chest and belly flaps and give em to a dog.
Keep the liver and kidneys.
2nd, the important bit, soak the Rabbit in brine, minimum of 12 hours.
3rd, coat it in plain flower mixed with cumin, curry power and paprika.
4th, fry the Rabbit till golden on medium heat.
5th, remove bunnie, melt butter and sautee mushrooms along with some washed potatoes.
6th, add the Rabbit back.
When cooked, plate up and top with finely chopped red onion.

Eat with lots of cold beer.

You should go on MasterChef. You have a gift.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

Looks good, I haven't seen many rabbits lately but I'll keep any eye out for them.

After getting up from a minor food coma snooze, I have to change my position on bunnies being equal to venison.
Now I have to say that Bunny is much better then venison

The second best meal of my life was a rabbit prepared by a German lady after working on her air conditioner all day without a break. However, the very best meal of my life was a peanut butter and grape jelly sandwich after four days of backpacking after I had run out of food. I lost 35 pounds in 31 days on that trip. Makes one a little hungry.
I think I'll try your recipe, sounds good.
