New hunting buddy
I visited a mate today and he had a few extra kits, so one kind of followed me home
I haven't had a Ferret in years and miss the smelly little buggers, I'm looking forward to running him with my whippet in a couple of months.
I've decided to go back to the old method of getting easier access to hunting grounds with a bit of ferreting and then once a little trust is earned then try and get a little fox whistling or spotlighting access as well

Friendly little bugger too, doesn't spook or try to bite, the whippet has gotten used to him already, but the blue dog still gets pretty worked up.

My whippet got used to the ferrets quick smart. Infact they used to sleep together.

The Heeler might take a bit of settling down, but you know how working dogs can be.

Nice one Speedy l, I used to ferret years ago but haven't since I got married eight years ago, I think I'll have to look into getting one again

Been ten years for me, but it's still fun in my memory.
I'm even thinking of giving snares a go, going right back to my basics that I did as a kid.

Love the smell. There great fun sitting over the nets waiting.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

Boy does that take me back. Nice one and hope that it leads into some shooting access for you.SPEEDY wrote:Been ten years for me, but it's still fun in my memory.

Re: New hunting buddy
He's all grown up now and going down his 1st burroughs on monday
Hopefully I don't have to dig him out.
But in other related news, he got introduced to Sophie his new girlfriend today, they are getting on great and in 6-8 months should make a nice litter of all red eye albino's or so I hope.
