Little dogs day on the boat.

Post by SPEEDY »

Had the pup out on the boat today for it's 1st run of the season, once again she did really well, we might as well have been cruising around in the Ute.
She stays calm but curious, doesn't stress and after initially jumping out and learning to swim while launching she didn't do anything of the sort a 2nd time

You just need to teach it to retrieve ducks - already showing more skills than the average Dachshund

Had her out on the boat yesterday and she was even better, although she has taken to sleeping on my feet when trolling around or sitting on my lap.

Then had her out bush again today, she keeps getting better, stays close till she gets a scent then she focusses on the scent and doesn't run off she goes a bit, stops and waits for me, then follows it another 10-15 yards and waits for me again, she wants to run but won't leave me.
That's exactly what I want from a dog, so I'm bloody happy with how she's progressing.
I think in a year or two she will be one hell of a dog.

The lake is low. Don’t think it’s going to be a good duck opening next year.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

Hasn't been over 50% in almost a year, doesn't look like it's going up anytime soon either.
But that reminds me I still have to do that WIT although it's hard to find a course around here for some reason.

It's at 50% now, and it's the highest it's been in a long while.
