Thanks Chuck,
I never thought a Dachshund would retrieve on water, in fact I didn't think they would be able to swim.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.
Hunt with a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Neither did i but they wanted that hardhead. They will shred a duck in seconds. Definitely not soft mouth.

Great example of any dog can do anything if you put the time into them. Now to teach them not to bite. :lol: :lol:

They sure can swim, although they have varying degrees of fondness for the water.

When I was somewhat younger and would swim across the river for whatever reason, one of dachies would follow me back and forth across the river without hesitation. Completely at home in the water.

They look like Collins Class Subs in the water. The sausage bit must make them very bouyant!

Lmao! Although i have seen a lakefield terrier duck doving for ducks which was impressive.
