even though it is a really light can, 13 ounces hangng off of a hinged barrel is a lot.

Happens a lot, a can changes both harmonics and barrel whip, when the bullet leaves the break it doesn't have to travel through the expanding gas either.

There are very few moderators the don't affect the poi to some degree.

i went back to the range today. the rifle retained zero and accuracy for the Federal 100, same 2 moa poi differential with can removed.

i then tested a handload from my BBF, 87 Vmax with H4350. accuracy was awesome, POI was the same as the Federal 100, but the interesting thing was the POI change when removing the can was only .75 moa.

i also tested with the Magnetospeed chrono
Federal 100 - 2810 SD 24m
Federal 80. - 3115 SD 35
87 Vmax. - 2997 SD 9

this handload shoots great in all my .243's so I am very lucky.

Right way to go.

Also have a supressed barrel for my K95.

6XC and a A-tec Carbon supressor, weighting in at 280 grams.

The scope is not for this rifle :), using a z6i 3-18x50 Gen 2 BT on it.

Also have a unsupressen 22 Hornet barrel for it with a z3 3-9x36, for a extra light setup.

That is a nice set up. Your suppressor is really light. And welcome to the forum!

I just got a new scope for mine, Swaro Z6i 2.5-15x44, the BT are pretty cool, I just ordered some znickiz rings.

ohh yeah, 22 Hornet for ptarmigan hunting in the mountains and the 6xc for wood grouse, both during the winter season.

Wish i had the American stock though, looks like it's better for shooting prone.
Don't seem to find a dealer here in Sweden who can get me one either.

From my experience you'd be lucky to find a dealer here in Sweden who will try to get anything for you

Out of curiosity, where do you do your hunting for black grouse and capercaile?

Out of curiosity, what do you use a 6xc on a bird for, is it range or something else?

So how big a difference in poi with both a can and the magnetospeed strapped to the can?

Barrel harmonics with light bullets and light barrels is an interesting thing - I've seen some strange concoctions screwed to the end of rimfire benchrest rigs over the years :D
