My K95 has seen it all, 40 degrees to sub zero degrees. Torrential rain and dust. The wood looks a bit dull until I give it a rub with ballistol. Any bits that fell off have been glued back on. Looks as good as new

I concur with the above. My K95 has seen it all, 40 degrees to sub zero degrees. Torrential rain and dust. The wood looks a bit dull until I give it a rub with ballistol. Any bits that fell off have been glued back on. Looks as good as new
Granted I have had my K95 for only a season, but it has seen a lot of wet weather chasing Sambar this year, it gets out regularly close to home and went with me to NZ on a Tahr hunt.
I can categorically state it has handled these trips without hiccup, unlike a Kimber Ascent I had previously that started to lose it's optifade hydrodip finish after a week of Sambar hunting.

I don't know where you guys are getting recoil? I have a K95 with a 300 Weatherby barrel, and with an elk in my sights I don't remember any recoil at all! It must be a Weatherby caliber exclusive.

Recoil fatigue and injury is based on 20+ shots consecutively off the bench. Everyone has different limits.

That or having a glass shoulder.
I'm soft and I don't care.

I'm thinking one of these with the stock painted in truck bed liner could be fun

I'd prefer a wood stock that develops it's own patina of marks, telling the story of many hunts undertaken with it, over anything sprayed with bed liner!

But bed liner could easily be misconstrued by Robinica as a synthetic stock, and a abomination against St Hubertus, Diana, and all else that is sacred.

Hi Gun Barrel Ecologist,
considering that you are a great fan of the 8x75RS and that you have one on loan at the moment I thought that you would mention that finally a sambar has been shot with a K95 chambered in this wonderful caliber. The ammo used was a Blaser factory load. cheers Robinica
