No worries Darryl, your welcome to try it for fit. I'm assuming your in the South Island? Give Joel a call at Stager and see if you can organise a fondle of it before he sends it up to me. Pretty sure it will be here in June.

That's much appreciated thanks Tim.
Your stock dimensions would be very close to my own fit so will be good to handle in the flesh.
And yes I live in Ch-Ch.

Congrats on the custom stock. I'll be anxious to see it when you take possession.

Thanks Ok H. I'll put up a few photos when I get my mitts on it, hopefully along side a nice red stag. It would have been nice if Blaser re-introduced the straight stock version of the k95, seems like there is plenty of interest out there.

Cheers Tim

You're right Tim. there is plenty of interest here in the US as well. I have a straight stock on my 7mm-08 & 6.5 CM and a Luxus Stutzen with the typical Bavarian Hog Back in 243.

I should have it by the end of the week! The importer sent this photo through last week. The custom stock looks very true to the original design . Straight grain wouldn't be my first pick ,I prefer a bit of figure in the grain but it has great colour which I do like a lot. I had always thought that straight grain stopped at grade 2 ? This is grade 4. I think its grade 6 wood before you get to choose your timber? Fingers crossed it comes up to the shoulder like it should. Cheers Tim

That's a lovely piece of wood Tim.
I like the straight grain, and it has really good contrast.

That is beautiful, and I rarely say that about another man's wood.

I like it. I like it a lot. I've always heard that straight stocks like that are stronger. No idea how much of a difference it makes or not but there may be an advantage there. It's a good looking rifle either way. If I were to order a new K95 it would be the black edition.

Good to get a few "likes" from the pros. Thanks.

I'm pretty sure the timber will grow on me fairly quickly. The importer assured me that the photos don't do the grain justice. He said that it has a lot more depth to the grain than the photo shows.

Eddie I'm not sure about strength but I have heard that recoil is better distributed through a straight stock. I will be using a fairly mild load through the 7mm rem mag barrel so I don't think recoil will be an issue.

I'll post a photo when I get it scoped?

Cheers Tim

Nice looking rifle. I'll add my vote for the wood. Curly grain is nice too but that is also stiking in its own way. I like the look of the stock as well, except the the cheek piece is on the wrong side.....
