Those members with a D99, do you prefer the splinter or semi beaver tail fore end?

What say you?

Mine has a splinter and it is ok. I would have preferred the beaver but i got this second hand at a great price. The splinter is bigger than a true british splinter

My Merkel 12x12x.222 drilling has a splinter, but not the real tiny British splinter.
My Merkel 9.3x9.3x20 has a much larger forend.
I much prefer this forend for rifle shooting.
However I have to admit when shooting moving birds I like the splinter.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

They definitely give me happy feeling in my special place

While I love my Luxus, I can definitely appreciate a fine D99 more. While out chasing Fallow last week I kept having hares, rabbits and even the occasional Fox pop up and a D99 would have handled the lot.
I also realized that I've only shot a couple of Fallow twice so the single shot would have suited me just fine.

Yep and thats the scenario every week for me, foxes with deer, ducks, rabbits etc. Hence any combo makes perfect sense.
