Interesting Bob, but perhaps not surprising. Do they sell only one K95 or only one Stutzen K95, or only one Edition Stutzen K95, or ?
Only Blaser know for sure, but if annual K95 production may total no more than a couple of hundred, across all models, that reply from one outlet, albeit a very large outlet, may be more understandable.
The question was how many K95s of any configuration, however between my German and their English, I'm not sure that is the question that was answered. They did say they sold more in Southern Germany (Bavaria) where it is a more traditional mountain rifle.
The more troublesome thing was a dearth of R8s. Frankonia in Berlin had only one, and in Magdeburg they had none compared to 6-8 just a few weeks ago. That could be due to hunting season sales and not yet replenished stock. However there were a dozen or more Sauers and Mausers on hand at each location.
By the way and to keep this on topic the Stutzen in stock was in 7X57R which I would believe to be a very pleasant caliber in this little rifle.
It comes down to the right gun for right type of hunting as preferred by the various people and hunting styles.
It's just lucky that blaser make something suitable for everyone.

I was in that same store mid August and also only saw one stutzen, probably the same one.
I really did expect to see more as well.

On mountain plains, in Mountain Ash forests, in farm fringe, 6m up on a treestand, Dargo over hounds and Snake Island shizer country I've done it all this year with the K95.
No doubt there are some other preferred hunting I haven't down this year like taking down a Sperm Whale on the Haines Hunter but I'm working on it.
Very nice, Bob. That's going to make a beautiful gun. What style of receiver did you go with? How long is the wait?
Chuck, which woodleigh projectile do you prefer for sperm whale? Sound like great sport. I assume you try to hunt them during the rut and call them in? Or is it spot and stalk? Let me know when that starts and I might have to take an Australian vacation

It is a black edition with a stock magazine, so it has the octagonal barrel, titanium nitride bolt block and trigger. I also had an engraved grip cap with my initials fitted. The wait may be almost over they are putting it together now. I ordered it early spring, maybe March.
stokesrj wrote:Very nice Stutzen, let us know how you like it, what you think of the recoil.
Hoping to have some range time next week. Will report back on recoil.
Just realised that I didn't reply to this. Apologies Bob.
The rifle is quite pleasant to shoot with the 165gn Norma factory ammo. Recoil is neither snappy nor heavy and, as best I can tell with muffs on, muzzle blast is not objectionable.
All up, a not unexpected good match of the 308 to the Stutzen.

Superb choice of walnut Bob, that will be a very special rifle when finished.
Fine rifles are a piece of art in my mind.
I am really looking forward to seening it.
