Aussie BD14
Well I ordered my Left hand BD14 in Mid-August 2017 after visiting the factory, and yesterday I was advised it will be completed by the end of this month.
That’s 5 months to make a special order Left hand BD14 in 7x65R and 22 Hornet, that’s pretty good I reckon and has exceeded my expectations. Bear in mind that 5 months includes a Christmas and New Year factory shutdown.
I have ordered other guns in the past that have taken nearly 2 years.
Of course it still may take several month to ship and get through Australian customs, but that is out of anyone’s control and understandable.
I must say the whole experience right from visiting the factory with Joshua Brayer, and dealing with Kaine at Miall’s gunshop has been very simple, and they did exactly what they said they would do after each interaction.
That’s all you can expect.
So now I have loaded some 7x65R with my favourite 175 grain Woodleigh’s to test, I just need to load some of Dom’s 35 Vmax 22 Hornet recipes and wait

Re: Aussie BD14
Here is a tip for you, the small caliber barrel regulation screw vertical adjustment is counter intuitive, poi is moved down by turning it clockwise. The windage is straight forward and intuitive. Both are a T6 inside a 2.5mm hex jam nut. Adjust by first loosening the jam nut, make the adjustment with the T6 and then jam the hex against it.

Brilliant Bob, great information.stokesrj wrote:Here is a tip for you, the small caliber barrel regulation screw vertical adjustment is counter intuitive, poi is moved down by turning it clockwise. The vertical adjustment is under fore end and the horizontal at the muzzle?
Is there any approximate idea of how much turning of the screw will move the POI, say 1/4 or 1/2 will move the POI by...?
Thankyou Allan

Yes, vertical is under forearm, horizontal is on the barrel hanger at the muzzle.9.3x64 wrote:Brilliant Bob, great information.stokesrj wrote:Here is a tip for you, the small caliber barrel regulation screw vertical adjustment is counter intuitive, poi is moved down by turning it clockwise. I failed to keep sufficient notes as to amount of movement per revolution or fraction of a revolution and now I can't remember. It was fairly simple to regulate, I don't think you will have any problem. I spent more time trying to find a slug that would print near the large rifle than anything else. Just plain old Winchester SuperX rifled slugs did the best in terms of grouping and near point of aim for me. They routinely shoot under 2" at 50 yards from mine. The Federal power balls did pretty good also, but the Brennecke's didn't shoot that well.
In reality I wind up using the shotgun barrel more with shot than with slugs anyway, it has taken dove, quail, rabbits, hares, and a turkey with shot.

Re: Aussie BD14
Thankyou Bob, I can't see me using anything larger than buckshot, and more than often mostly smaller shot.
Can you please confirm I have the below correct in my head.
Vertical Adjustment under the forearm.
Turning clockwise moves POI down.
Horizontal Adjustment at the muzzle.
Turning clockwise moves POI right.
I understand I need to loosen the 2.5 hex before and after adjustment.

Yes, you have it correct, only you left out tighten for the the 2.5 hex after adjustment, I think that is what you meant though.
