Post by secondtry »

Can those with one of these please post an actual bare rifle weight, whether or not a pad is fitted, and what variation (Luxus, Basic etc) that bare rifle weight is for ?

Thank you :)

Thank you. The good balance must hide the weight.

I do imperial for babies, fish, and rifles, so that is 7lb14oz. Add a scope and saddle mount and it gets close to 9.5 lbs. :o

Screw carrying that any where. Lust is extinguished :( :( (sadly)

Well, it does have 2 bbls....FWIW, I've never noticed the weight of mine when I've been humping it through the forest. Could be the ridiculous 15kg pack I carry balances the weight.... It's good exercise, right??

3.58 kg seems very heavy to me, maybe I have gotten something wrong.
Life is too short to hunt with an ugly dog.

Sometimes a little extra weight is not a bad thing.

Seriously, not an issue. Except maybe long range high country hunts - in which case maybe a K95 or plastic R8 etc would be better.... Who would take a double there anyway :confusion-shrug:

If you want less weight then you will have to go with the classic model with soldered barrels.

Very likely. And isn't it nice :D

Depending on much extra weight there is, and where it is, I agree. A bit of weight in the barrell can make a rifle much easier to shoot accurately and can make it swing and hold better off hand. It can also mask poor technique (I have personal experience  ) Bare, or with an Micro or Docter it would be fine, but with a scope it would be the old left hand. right hand, on the shoulder, left shoulder, right shoulder, off the shoulder shuffle -continuously :( :( I found my way out of that many years ago, and I'm not going back.

Or try to look at a Chapuis X4 ;)

My B97 with left hand stock and double 9.3X74R barrels weighs 7 lb 8 oz with no scope. With the 12/7X65R barrel it weighs 6 lb 8 oz.
