Getting the permit to import your firearm into the US is pretty painless. I reckon the hardest part of any overseas travel (for an Australian) with a firearm is getting the Australian Export permit. And it's good for a year and unlimited entries within that year. :handgestures-thumbup:

My last US permit had a turn around time of 3 weeks. I think they suggest that you allow 12 weeks to be sure of getting it.

I am happy to volunteer to be part of the US committee. I would like to see this happen, it can be a lot of fun.
