I have the 22 hornet in the small end (52 cm barrel length), and the 8x57IRS on the big end (60 cm barrel length). Both with open sights.

In the middle I have the 6XC with threaded barrel for moderator. My plan was to use it for varmint, goose/wood grouse, but I've only used it for training this far.

I like a rimmed round in break open guns. I would do a 6.5x57r

I have been thinking about this and I basically have the setup. Cartridge/brass being easily available is more important to me than rimed vs. rimless because I have never had an issue reloading a rimless case in my combo or single shot. I think I would add a hornet to it because they are fun and well I just want one. I always wanted a 6.5x57r and think it would be really cool but brass etc would be a major pita.

Going to need a 22 hornet barrel I think the 222 is a little much for squirrels. I am off in about 10 days to Wyoming and Montana for deer and antelope with it. Coyotes and maybe a turkey too.

Good luck with your new beautiful rifle. I really love my 22 hornet barrel for my K95 but it isn't that much more gentle with the squirrels, head shots are about the only way to have much to eat.

Thinking of getting two scopes. First one for the 40grn. BT and lilgun and a second scope for a trail boss load.

My Hornet loves the 40 grain Hornady V-Max and 13 grains of Lilgun. I never shot the 40 grain BT they may do just as well. But at 3,000 fps squirrels fly apart.

Agree.
