What Kicks The Worst?

Any K95 owners out there who have shot both a 9.3x74r and a 300 Weatherby Mag? Trying to see how felt recoil compares between the two. I own and have shot the 9.3x74r out of mine so looking to see how much different the 300 will be. I have a 300 in a bolt gun but it weighs about 9 pounds and the recoil in that will not be comparable to the k95.

I have compared the two and on paper the award goes to the 9.3x74r but how it feels is sometimes different than what the calculator tells you. That is a great calculator thanks for sharing.

I’d be looking at the recoil velocity figure over the total foot pounds of force. You see more secondhand K95s in the Win mags than 9,3x74R.

Worst for me was an old Mannlicher M1895 Carbine in 8×50mmR Mannlicher. It was like asking someone to hit your shoulder with a cricket bat. I swear they designed that cartridge to knock riders off horses. The ones doing the riding and shooting, not the other way around.

That reminds me of an old CROATIAN couple.
I came up to Rudi’s farm and found him black and blue across his legs and back. I asked him what happened ,he said he must of fallen over but doesn’t remember as he was pissed as a maggot . I am surprised the calculations say the 9.3 x 74r has more recoil than the 300 Weatherby. I have no experience with the 300, but I had a Merkel 141 double rifle in 9.3. It was not heavy and It's recoil didn't seem any more than my R8 30-06.

I don't put 100% faith in recoil figures, perceived recoil is of bigger importance.
It's the old case of a shove by big man or a punch by a medium size man, it can make bigger bores better to shoot then a magnum.

Big 30s in anything are evil vicious things. In a K95 it would be as bad as it can get.

I'm betting the 9.3 would feel noticeably less vicious, but it would still be snappy.

Two bad examples to rely on a calculator for - big and slow vs. light and very fast.

Me too. I have a Merkel L961 double rifle drilling in 9.3x74R and it only weighs 3.2kg. Recoil is not so bad at all, even with 320 grain Woodleighs.

I would put money on the 300 magnum being worse, because of the recoil speed.
