Sig p226 MK25 disassembly/assembly

Post by KO301 »

Hi all!

I thought it would be a good idea to take my MK25 apart and now I have a receiver block stuck in the frame just a little off where it is suppose to be. I realized T=the receiver block was a super tight fit to my frame when I took it apart and it is stuck REALLY REALLY tight now. Anyone know how to remove the receiver block from the frame? Also, the trigger is stuck because it is pinched by the receiver block.

Thank you all!

I had a 226 myself, and took it apart a few times. Without having it in my hand, I am at a loss to give advice.

It wasn't a jam. I was just taking the pistol apart to clean it. It is way past field strip and the receiver block is stuck solid. Banging it with hammer didn't even move it. The only reason I have not been to a gunsmith is that I know he would be laughing at me the entire time he is trying to fix it and telling me how stupid I was trying to disassemble the pistol =p

So I finally decided to take my MK25 to a gunsmith so I went to my local Gander Mountain. Walked out with a Sig 1911 Fastback... I guess my problems is solved...

p226 parts gun? I have no idea what that is. The 1911 fits my hands so well that I am not thinking about touching my MK25 any time soon XD

The way you wrote your comment was that you went in with the P226 in pieces and came out with the 1911. The assumption was that they took your 'parts' as a trade in on the 1911.

Or did they re-assemble the P226 and you bought the 1911?

Seeing this last comment that you are not thinking about touching the MK25 any time soon leads me to believe that they put it back together and you now have both guns.

Just trying to figure out what you did..... :?

ahh sorry for the confusing comments. So I took the MK25 to gander mountain and saw a Sig 1911 fastback and bought the pistol before I showed them my MK25 and took all the parts back home. So now I have a Sig 1911 and MK25 still in pieces.

No biggie, happens to the best of us.  That's one of the beauties of this website. At times it looks like a poorly run government operation... well maybe not that bad.
