Re: Everyday Urban Carry
Thanks to Dr Benson, my winter EDC is a Para Carry 45, and it is loaded with 230 gr hard ball ammo. Back in the fall, I found a cheap no name yaqui type holster, and I am actually still wearing the holster and gun as I type this.
For summer, I generally just carry a Ruger LCP in my front pants pocket. It is not my favorite carry gun, but a mouse gun in my pocket is better than a bazooka left in my truck.

As long and hard as the trigger pull is on my LCP, there is not much fear of an accidental discharge.Olsen wrote:Hope it dont fire when you have it in your pocketretrieverman wrote:Thanks to Dr Benson, my winter EDC is a Para Carry 45, and it is loaded with 230 gr hard ball ammo. Re: Everyday Urban Carry
I spend the majority of the year in t-shirts and shorts. In that dress, I carry a Kel Tec 40 (Conversion from a 9m/m) with Rem 165 Golden sabres. I use the pocket clip that Kel Tec provides and carry in the appendix position. When I'm up north, I carry a Star PD with Black Talons (stocked up a long time ago). Same type of carry with a clipdraw modified to fit the Star. If I'm wearing a suit, I use shoulder rig that holds the gun in either a horizontal or butt down position. This rig is very minimal. For the life of me, I can't remember the name of it. Maybe some of you can help me out here. It holds the gun by the muzzle, and a plastic coated spring goes around the rear of the receiver. In use. you pull the gun horizontally or slightly downward and the muzzle pops free. It takes longer to describe than to use it. Very fast. In that rig , i carry a DW Pointman with the above mentioned Black Talons.

Summertime-- NAA .380 in a pocket holster
Glock 26 two tone in a pocker holster if I'm wearing cargo shorts or my walther PPS
Wintertime
HK P7M8 custom IWB holster
HK USP compact 357 sig
Walther PPS IWB holster
EMP 9mm in a IWB holster
I'm really wanting to try a FN 5.7x28 for a wintertime carry.

Re: Everyday Urban Carry
Every day carry, Kimber Stainless Ultra Carry II, usually with a round of 230 gr.Fed Hydra Shok and the rest 230 gr. ball, plus an extra mag of the same. Holster is a Milt Sparks 55 BN.
For a change I will carry the S&W 1911 Gunsite Model .45 ACP (Commander size), but usually just for a serious day of shooting, because it is too heavy for every day carry. The Ultra doesn't dig into my back when I sit, either.

Brew,
Since your post I got out my MS 55 BN and have been carrying it here at the house...
Very Comfortable. Slick presentation...
For those of you that do not prefer IWB, this holster is worth a look...

Re: Everyday Urban Carry
NE, what size belt did you get? My ultra holster uses a 1.75" which I really like. For some goofy reason I got the pro size holster with only a 1.25" belt, which is okay but that extra .50" seems to hold the holster tighter against the body and just feel more secure. (the 1.25 belt is also from Milt Sparks)
Glad you are enjoying the 55BN. I use the summer special occasionally, but it just doesn't seem as comfortable iwb. Maybe I need to practice it more. I used the 55BN for the 250 course at Gunsite, with a vest - I figured I might as well practice the way I'm going to use it.
You guys sure do have nice collections, show pics if you get the chance. As a 1911 guy, I must say Aleko's collection makes me drool on another thread.

Re: Everyday Urban Carry
Brew, I use a Milt Sparks belt when I leave the house, but I wear a Filson belt on my place and carry it as a spare.
I have been using a Summer Special either a Milt Sarks or a GWM Davis since they first became avialable..
I always get my pants 2" bigger in the waist, which I find comfortable with a 1911, or a Glock 17, or a S&W 44 Mag.

I'm afraid if I get bigger pants I might grow into them!

Re: Everyday Urban Carry
Since I never go anywhere without a "pistol in my pants" I have found that by getting them 2" bigger in the waist, it makes it a LOT more comfortable to carry a handgun IWB.

Ok, I'm reminded of a post I made earlier in another thread regarding the 17HMR, this and other posts in this thread prove my personnel view about messing with Texan's.
On a side note, god bless you all, your state and your right to carry what you want when you want to, don't ever change
Now to my preference, if i could carry anything here then I think that I would go with something like a good old fashioned 38spl stub nose, so safe so reliable and so completely fool proof. Damn great guns I only ever shot one on a few occasions but I was quite impressed with it, and if our stupid laws weren't changed preventing me from owning anything with a less then 120mm barrel then I would go out and buy one now
I'm soft and I don't care.
