Non Matching Pair
The reason I can put off the BD14 for another year. And it will get a billing this year at opening season.
Beretta SP1 20g, 28" field.

Re: Non Matching Pair
Does that mean you no longer need the webley?
I hope it does anyway.

Nice shooting. Certainly does look to shouldering well. It's got a competent driver as well.

Re: Non Matching Pair
It shoulders well because I did a pick and fit with beretta. I tried 26", 28" and 30". I thought I'd go with 26" but I honestly liked the 30" too. The 26" is extremely fast to shoulder. In the end the 28" was a good compromise. They lopped off the end to make it the exact same LOP as the 12G. As I expect to be dam jumping in 3 weeks they generally fly up and away so I thought some DTL practice was probably the best simulation. I was surprised how well the little 20g with the 7/8 , loads busts those clays. Its no slouch but boy does taking 500gr off the weight compared to my 12G make carrying it.

Re: Non Matching Pair
I also had a go with the ShotKam on 12G. Some of those clays you swear should have been busted. I changed over to full choke first and half choke second on my second round with it and it much better connect rate which I put down to holes in my pattern. Unfortunately the ShotKam didn't record the second round. This leads me to believe I'm better off with IM and FC in both guns and I'll do a bit better. I know its not a trap gun but its still good to smash them.

Chuck
You made the right decision with the 28 in tubes. Though 26 in May come up ( appear to) than the 30 in, once you start the swing, the longer tubes advantage comes into play.
For a field gun under 2.8 kg with a 20 gauge works well. Though if I may make a suggestion re chokes and steel ( and I mean proper steel full choke). I have found that IC on the first shoot and MOd on the second works quite well as steel tends to group much closer than lead. If you are concerned about the longer shot then suggest improved modified for the second.
Happy duck hunting. Next week I will be heading down to Flinders for geese, my choke choices will be M and F. Why? Cause we are not using steel and the ranges tend to be longer.

Re: Non Matching Pair
I'm half tossing up between a Webley and Scott SxS 20ga for clays and ducks or a SxS 12ga coach gun for clays, pigs, ducks and geese.
I've got a love for coach guns, but I also love a light lively low recoil 20ga.

Re: Non Matching Pair
I wouldn't have put the 20g up there with the 12G but the more I shoot the 20G and the lighter weight the more I like it. I'll get a sling put on it and then either swap the ShotKam over from the 12G or buy another. This will be the Beretta year.
