The Blaser F16 Sporter

Post by mchughcb » Sat Nov 03, 2018 9:32 pm

Yesterday I was able to put a few boxes through my mates Blaser F16 sporter with 32" barrels. I found it handled well and suited me. I didn't miss too many with the 1/2 and full chokes except for the overhead ones that were landing too close. Overall I like the gun and one day might get one.

I would like one with 28" barrels, maybe one day. I like that one Chuck, it's got a nice dark timber stock. :handgestures-thumbup:

Yes the timber on it was beautiful and it shot for me even though it was 32" barrels. I'm keen to get one but first things first, new safe!!

There a sweet looking shotgun that’s for sure.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

That's a lovely gun, I like the look of it very much.

I like them a lot. The fit is smooth and streamline. The finish is slightly understated making is cool is its own teutonic way. The ejectors make it a lethal weapon on the hecklers. Just line them up and pop them in their direction

I shoot my F3 with 32” barrels better than any shotgun i’ve shot, and I have shot a lot of shotguns including Perrazi and Kreighoff. I like 28 or even 26” barrels for close in fast handling but there is no doubt that 32” barrels are far superior when it comes to hitting medium or long distance targets. Back when I was crazy over English side by sides I had the opportunity to shoot a trigun side by side precisely fitted to me with 28, 30, and 32” barrels all 12 ga 2”. Bored 1/4 and 1/2 choke 100 rounds each on a sporting clays course. The longer the barrels the easier it is to hit with was my take away. Oh, and a gun that fits you is also easier to hit with too. And Chuck to your other thread on the 20 gauge, a 12 ga 2” shoots the same payload but with a more even shot distribution than a 20 and can be made just as light as a 20 gauge. My Gallyon and Sons were 5 1/4 pounds with 30” barrels both the 12 2” and 20 2 3/4”.
