My weekly email from Rebel Gun Works contained this;
Anyone else having trouble getting 2209?

Damn Yank PRS shooters in the states shooting it all up at large steel targets at 1000 yards.
I think Rl 16 is a better equivalent than 19, and more resistant to temp extremes.

Re: 2209 Shortage?
I was told I got the last 2 containers in Brisbane last week. I don't understand how we can run out of 2209 in Australia.

It’s a worry. I use 2209 in the majority of my calibers.

Re: 2209 Shortage?
I recently decided that I would work up a load for my 7x65R BD14 with AR2209 when it arrives.
I have a good load with RL19 but I was worried about future supply of RL19.
I thought 2209 would be a much safer bet...

Ah Australia 1st we sell more gas then we have to meet local demand, next rifle powder.
And we can our fuel refinery and don't import a constant reserve. We're stuffed.

Too right! Buy in bulk with everything to do with reloading out here.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

It used to be I’ve avoided Reloader powders for precisely that reason, and I tend to buy a couple of bottles at a time of the 22teen series out of paranoia but ‘09

Stopped in LGS today. They had six pounds in stock, so I bought three of them. As long as I got over eight pounds on hand I am happy.

Re: 2209 Shortage?
Yep...we can no longer get Alliant in WA, so I bought as much as I could find still in stock. Sadly, that didn't include much RL19, which is my go to for my 338WM!
So if anyone is driving to Perth from the Eastern States any time soon, and want's an extra 5lb of cargo, a beer reward is waiting......
Regards,
Jeff

Re: 2209 Shortage?
We used to have a local importer (Westfire) but now it's all via Nioa who can't get it over here from QLD.
Same with Vihtavhouri, which was another powder I loved back when I was in the UK. They took that over from Custers and then decided not to bring it in any more.
At least I have a good few kg of 2206H/2208/2209 in stock!
Regards,
Jeff
