210 Berger in the 300 WSM

Post by Ok Hunter »

Has anyone loaded the Berger 210's in the 300 WSM? I'm concerned about the length and weight of the bullet in the WSM. I haven't measured mine but am thinking its a 1-11'' twist. Can anyone share some info on this?
Thanks.
Shoot low sheriff, they're riding shetlands.

I’ve loaded them in my 300wm with no issues. But been a short case I would look into the 185gr Classic hunter or the 190gr VLD hunting as you will get a bit more speed out of them. As for barrel twist, I’ve always found to just give it a go. It’s all recommendations after a lot of testing for the best possible accuracy but doesn’t mean there not going to shoot well in your rifle. I did email Walt Berger years ago and asked the question. He just said warmer months it will stabilise better but just try them. This was in my 243 barrel using 95gr Vld hunting and target. They shot great 5 shots into 5 cents not bad for a projectile that’s recommend for a 1:8 twist in a 1:10 twist

Measure it, when it’s on the deck
