Re: Trouble With 22 Hornet
I had similar problems with the insert barrel on my drilling. The “Princess” insert has essentially a SAAMI minimum chamber, and brass that had been fired previously in a Ruger #3 could not be sized enough at the base to fit the chamber. I had to scrap the brass. “Modern” German/Austrian rifles seem to have what we would consider minimum chambers, and only the throat can be “generous”

Re: Trouble With 22 Hornet
Hi Matt,
I doubt you will find you have defective brass. I suspect your issue is that the K95 just has a tighter chamber which is showing you the issue. My K95 and my Anschutz 22 Hornet chambers are so different that I have to adjust the dies for each one. I eventually just got two sets of dies and keep everything separate according to the gun. It isn't unusual to find a set of dies that will not reduce the cartridge diameter sufficiently to fit a minimum chamber without adjusting it so that the press has to cam over hard which removes all flex. Or, in some examples I have had to remove material from the bottom of the die or the top of the shell holder. Hint; shell holders are less expensive but then you will have to keep track of that shell holder so that it doesn't accidently get used for another gun.
