Straight Wall Calibers for Blaser

Post by John1911.com » Wed Nov 19, 2014 4:28 pm

Dumb but simple question. What calibers in the Blaser R8 are considered straight walled?

The reason I ask is two states I hunt in are either allowing straight wall cartridges or considering it.

Regards,
TTR

Right away I can think of the .458 WM and the .458 Lott....

Very nice. Two calibers I am not familiar with.

Anyone else with any more?

I am in the same boat as you.

I have a nice R93 rifle and can't use it. In fact it's been 3 years since I've even taken it out of the safe. I need a straight caliber barrel as well

450 Bushmaster, but You need custom barrel. It works good from 308 win magazine.

Those are the only two. I sold my R8 458 WinMag Selous barrel to a forum member for that very purpose. He planned to load it down to 45-70 velocities and bullet weights. I personally would go with the 350 legend in a custom barrel for a straight walled caliber.

458 wm isn’t legal in Michigan

I’m not sure what states it does
