Load data help needed for 375h&h

Post by Peaceman » Sat Nov 02, 2019 4:02 pm

Hi. New member here and just picked up my first Blaser R93 with the standard contour 375 barrel. Anyone have a good load already established? My first try was using Ramshot BG and Barnes 250gr but I couldn’t find a decent load that grouped well consistently. Looking now at RL-15 with this bullet. Any thoughts or info is appreciated on this combo or others that work well?

Working on the premise that 2209 = 4350 try 80-83g for 2700+
Usual caveats and more apply given it’s Sunday morning my time ;) :?

These were shot from a Winchester Model 70 Safari.

if Big Game isn't working satisfactorily then you might want to try CFE223. But RL 15 should be a good one too.

I am surprised at the lower charge weight but certainly think this would be a lot less painful than what I was using. Barnes lists max load at 84.5gr of BG with their 270lrx and I stopped at 82. Velocity was 2900 FPS.

Thanks for the QL chart. First time I have seen that program but have always heard and read about it. I’ll give RL-15 a go since I have the powder and if I can’t get what I’m after give this a try.

As you can see there is some difference between Barnes and QL. I would be interested to see how things pan out. Good luck

Thanks for sharing those. It’s interesting how much that data varies from the Barnes recommended loads.
