Another cheapskate with a Quick load request

Post by SPEEDY »

Hey I got a quick couple of QL requests.

1st thanks to a very helpful LGS I've managed to get a couple of boxes of the 110gn Hornady half jackets to try in 308win with trail boss, I'm looking for a subsonic and max velocity load.

Also since I'm asking anyway is a load of Benchmark 8208 posible or safe in a 44mag?
I'm soft and I don't care.

Because ADI would rather sell you a reloading guide for $10 :D

Rifle or pistol? Bullet weight?

Either way, it is "safe" from a pressure standpoint. It's going to make a hell of a flash, though and the velocity is poor.

A 240 grain bullet, in a 6" barrel, at 18.5 grains is only predicted to reach <8000 psi (550 bar).

Thats good, I was looking at a 240gn pill from a rifle.
If the pressure is that mild then velocity is probably going to be quite slow.
But at least I can load some up and test them.

It's very slow. Make sure it exits the barrel!
