Free Bullets

Post by MM »

I just purchased a set of Hornady reloading dies and now I get 100 free bullets. If you could get free bullets from Hornady what would you get? Just for fun any caliber any style and weight they offer.

Based on your post I’d say you needed something in .308 caliber. Maybe the 110 grain for something similar to what you are currently using or the 150 grain SST for larger game?

I'd go for some of their DGX or DGS dangerous game bullets, then sell them and get 200 of the sort I really wanted.

.458 325g FTX purely for weight / value. For hunting and culling I still like the .270 130g SST and probably should load up some more.

I would get a box of 338 Cal 285 gr ELD Match just to see how they go.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

That's the issue, the choices are limited, the only 30 cal is the 3031 150 grain Interlock, takes nearly all the fun out of it :| although they are pretty good bullets. The Hornady American Whitetail loading using this bullet was the most accurate factory load in my 308 tests using an R8.

But just for the fun of it, if I could choose any Hornady Bullet it would be the .458 bonded DGS, today, and probably something else tomorrow.

The interlok's and corelok etc are greatly under rated pills these days, they do the job without the hype.

A non hunting bullet - the 123gr 6.5 ELD Match. Shoots like a laser out of my 6.5x47 at the range.
SST or Interlock - taken deer with both quite emphatically.
