I look forward to learning from the more experienced shooters and owners of Sauer and Blaser rifles on this forum. I own a Sauer Model 200 Lux LH in 30.06, with a Leupold VX3 3.5X10 scope. I had wanted one since my early twenties when I first saw ads for the takedown, multi-caliber rifles available in left-handed bolt action. (Finally was able to afford a lightly used one 2 years ago.) In the 1970s and early 80s, we lefties had learned to make do with RH bolts and the Sauer ads for LH bolt actions really caught my attention. But it took many years before I could afford to scratch the itch! Love the rifle. Have taken 2 whitetails with it so far, both with handloaded 165 grain Nosler Ballistic tips.
Well, the problem with owning one is that now I want another one. Saw an ad for a gently used 9.3x62 LH model 200 recently. Not very familiar with that caliber but doing my due diligence now. Any opinions appreciated. I mostly hunt whitetails and realize the 9.3x62 is over-matched for whitetails but I also have a Ruger no.1 in 338 RCM, a CVA Apex 35 Whelen, and a Win 1885 in 375 H&H so clearly I kinda like the medium to big bore rifles! The deer don't seem to object to too much rifle.

I think you will find that many of us here love the 9.3X62. It is very similar to the 35 Whelen that you already have but a little more powerful, it is just under the .375 H&H. My favorite R8 caliber is the 9.3X62. Here is a link to some information on it. viewtopic.php?f=84&t=10604&hilit=9.3X62+long+range&start=15#p121105

Welcome (fellow Californian I presume) SuperDave1952. There are a lot of 9.3 shooters here so you should get a lot of good information. You can't go wrong with a 9.3x62, it's similar to your 35 Whelen only better IMHO.

It's one of my favourite calibres in R8. A wider range of projectiles (types and weights ) plus modern powders have made the 9.3 quite a versatile calibre. There are a lot of folks on here with a great deal of 9.3 experience who I am sure will chip in.
It's almost becoming mandatory with Blaser owners on the forum that you have to have a 9.3
