Another New member from Down under
Hi All
just joined the site and looks great and lots and lots of info on Blaser riffles, I would be interested to find out what some of you are doing when it comes to reloading. Im looking for any help or suggestions as I just added a few R8 riffles to my collection and I have been reading that FL dies are the way to go when it comes to Blaser riffles and that LANDS distance is crucial. looking to load 300WSM, 308 and 243.
cheers

Welcome aboard. Not sure why you can't reply but I found lands are as critical in my R93.

You have come to the right place for info. This is a very informative forum and you will receive excellent advice. Distance from the lands has always been a consideration for me when reloading and will depend a lot on what projectile (manufacturer, type etc) and use you have for that load. Other controlling factors such as magazine length come into play ( there are ways around this as well). Certainly for most of my R8 calibres closer rather than further from the lands is the go.blaser pap wrote:Hi All

There has been quite a lot of discussion and data about reloading on the forum so might be worth a search based on your calibres.
Welcome again and hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome to to the forum great gun and nice cals there.
I load my 338 lap to the lands , which ends up being a single feed.
My 300wthby and 6.5x55 had to be loaded to the mag as I want to hunt with them.
The 6.5 is also loaded to the lands but also fits into the mag.
You need to measure up all your cals and experiment with lengths, no short cut Sorry.

hi guys
thanks for the warm welcome, i have been told to keep 10 tho away from LANDS and also been told 2 tho
just picked up one the Hornady OAL gauge and a couple of the modified cases for a better measurement...was using home made split case but not always as good.

As always, you'll have to play about a bit depending on all the variables and take a bit of care. FWIW, in my R93s my old 243W was a finicky POS but shot OK when I got the combinations right. OTOH, my 308 and 9.3 will take just about any old crap and shoot well. Must be 2 of the most boring rounds ever to end up on a reloaders bench. Hope you enjoy the R8!7x57 wrote:You have come to the right place for info. This is a very informative forum and you will receive excellent advice.
