Father and Son from Arizona
Hello to all. 6 months ago, my doctor told me to never shoot again if I wanted to keep what hearing I have left (damage unrelated to shooting). I translated that to mean I needed a suppressor.
I started looking at Blasers solely because they're shorter without sacrificing barrel length, and with a mandatory suppressor, I need all the length reduction I can get. I bought a pro success with .270 and .204 barrels and a pro s for my 18 year old son with a .270wsm barrel. He can handle the extra noise so I thought he could use something with a bit more stomp.
Still waiting on the suppressor stamps (!) so I can only take a few shots at a time, but the rifles are awesome.
Interesting note: the pro s soaks up more recoil than the success stock. The .270 in the success kicks slightly harder than the .270wsm in the pro s. A barrel swap proved the point. Neither is bad, but it was an interesting exercise.

Welcome to the forum and I'm also sorry about the hearing .
This might be a good angle / reason for us Aussies to try and use it at a legitimate reason to get a suppressor.
Not sure if anyone has gone that angle here ?

Not in NSW, they won't except an application with WH&S OH&S etc reasons.
Only occupational reasons are excepted, a doctors note just won't cut it.

Welcome to the forum, lots of good info on here you'll enjoy it.
Speedy I have to do an annual hearing test as part of my job and could loose my job if it degrades, I put that down as the reason for the suppressor and got it straight away.

Welcome to Blaser Buds. Arizona is a great state for shooting, I lived there for 23 years and still go back every year to call elk if I or any of my friends get a tag in the drawing. Also spent a lot of time on the Ben Avery, Usery Pass and South Mountain ranges and of course my favorite, the wide open desert that still belongs to the people.
If you really like quiet, get Pete, who goes by "Arrowgun" here to build you a 300 Blackout barrel for your R8. I think there are four of them floating around at this point. I have a Thunderbeast Ultra 7 moderator but like you are waiting on my stamp. Current wait time is 246 days from when they cash your check if you are doing a form 4 Trust. You can see other wait times here. https://www.silencershop.com/atf-wait-times

I used the .222 magazine and it worked, I suspect the .223 magazine works, perhaps even better.

Really feel sorry for you guys and all the red tape involved with Suppressors. In South Africa they don't require any paperwork. The paperwork for the firearms however is a different story. Not sure who's situation is worse.

Hopefully it will change in the US. There is legislation going through Congress right now that potentially will make them available over the counter. So, we will see.
