Kiwi Living in Scotland
Hi ,
I'm a professional hunter from NZ living in Scotland I've just bought my second Blaser an R8 professional Adjustable ATZL in 6.5x 47 Lapua Semi weight. My first was R93 pro in 300WM which I sold a couple of years ago. After mostly big recoiling rifles like 300WM and 270s I'm looking forward to shooting the 6.5 and seeing my hits both in hunting situations and on the range at the gongs.
I'm hoping to learn some good reloading tips and mods for Blaser 6.5x47 and hopefully share what I've learnt in return. Thanks guys!

Welcome to the forum Superwolf! I'm sure you will get plenty of good advice for reloading your new rifle. Certainly no shortage of knowledge on this site.
Don't be shy with your hunting photos and stories. It's always great to see what others are up to in their part of the world.

Welcome aboard. There are several 6.5 shooters here and have plenty of great advice.
It doesn't matter what you shoot as long as you shoot

Welcome to BB. Think you will enjoy the 6.5. I have a 6.5x55 in the r8 and a 6.5x47 in a custom rifle. Enjoy shooting them both very much.

Welcome to Blaser Buds, I'm sure you will enjoy your 6.5X47. I have no experience with that particular caliber but I do have 6.5X55 and 6.5 Creedmoor which are very similar. I don't think it is complicated, Laupua brass, Lapua, Sierra, or Hornady bullets and standard dies will please you.
I've found the Berger 127 grain XLR and the Berger 140 grain Elite Hunter Hybrid and H4350 or Hodgden Superformance powder to yield superior performance. I have posted my favorite load in the Creedmoor here. http://www.blaserbuds.com/forum/viewtop ... 97&t=14535
I'm sure you can achieve the equivalent with the 6.5X47.
Best,
Bob

Welcome to BB Superwolf.
Scotland is a lovely part of the world. I try to go there at least once per year for reds, but have had a bit of a dry spell over the past few years.
Would be interesting on your thoughts on good places for hinds.
