Wanted to buy a solid Brand/platform for all hunting desires.
Next barrel will be 22-250 or .22 Nossler if they will take the 22 Nossler in production

The 22/250 is a great choice for varmints and I guess you shoot them funny birds too so doubly good.
It also saves buying another bolt head, the 22 nosler will need a mini bolt head, so the 22/250 still makes more sense IMO l.
I went with a 6mmBR purely because I saw one for sale cheap and it was unusual, and I didn't need a mini bolt head.
It also gives me a good range barrel if I want to shoot some targets for fun.
It never hurts to have a range barrel for plinking away an afternoon.

why would you need a mini bolt head ? seems to me it goes with the same as the 22-250..

I know, I had to look it up

I'd never heard if the 22 Nosler so I had to look it up.

It would be great to re-barrel an old 223rem to, actually it would be great to neck up to 6.5 or 6.8 for a great little short action small dear and pig gun.

But it is essentially a 22/250 for small bolt face rifles.

Did you handle an R8 with a semi-weight barrel and a standard profile barrel before deciding?

The salesman in the store handed me both barrels, you`ll feel the 0,66 pound difference, either way in my opinion recoil is less with a heavier barrel, next to that is looks better too.

I don't actually notice the difference between my two 308win barrels, one is a standard and the other is a fluted match barrel
But I definitely notice the difference when carrying them.

Although I was surfing youtube today as nd found a channel where they seem to like using the match barrels on wood stocks, a nice black edition and what looked like a varmint with a standard but stock.
Looked damn good, I might have to get a second forend for the Luxus yet.
