Hello from Michigan, USA

Post by twinmaker »

Hello everyone,

I'm a brand new member to the forum. I have been a Blaser owner for about 2 years now, and as expected, extremely satisfied and eager to keep my barrel collection growing. Not sure why I didn't join the forum before, but it was shown to me by the good guys at eurooptic yesterday, and here I am... better late than never i guess.

Is good to be here!

Welcome aboard and to the group, the guys here are a great bunch same as the Guys at Eurooptics. Feel free to ask questions as there are very experienced members that are willing to share and by all means share your knowledge.
Tell us a little more about yourself and enjoy.

Welcome aboard. Be interested to hear a bit more about yourself and what rifles/barrels you have at the moment.

Thank you for the welcome guys. I'll start my posting right away in the other sections. I do want to hear opinions as well as posting my two cents about my experiences.

I have a Jaeger R8, standard contour, and I have a 270Win, a 30-06 (that I have taken to Africa twice), and a 257 Wby Mag barrels. I am in hot pursuit of a 300WM barrel which will be followed either by a 204Ruger or a 22-250...I still am dazed and confused as to which of the two I will get. what can I say; I love Blaser. I have owned good rifles and not so good ones too, but Blaser is BAR NONE the best I have ever fired. Just like the slogan says; Fast, Accurate (as hell), Deadly, Dependable, no kidding.

I love hunting, I will be in CO in October for an Elk hunt, and I just came back from an African plains game safari. It is great to be here and I can't wait to start picking all the brains in this community

Thanks all for the welcome!

Good to have you on board. There are some real knowledgable BlaserBuds in Michigan, like Dom, for example.

Well I am surprised that we have got this far and no one has suggested a 6.5x55 or a 9.3x62

He said he was a Blaser owner, surely he already has 6.5X55 and 9.3X62. If he doesn't then we will automatically suggest he gets them.

ha ha ha.. does it bring down my popularity if I don't own any of those yet?? :o

I have shot the 9.3x62 in South Africa and boy is that sweet. I think that is a true all around caliber. Now, being on this side of the pond in the US, I didn't grow up with those calibers around (it was more of the typical 270/30-06/300WM) but I'm sure I can make some space in my safe for the 9.3 ;) .
