New member from Wisconsin

Post by brif »

Hi, my name is Brian. I found this forum after searching for more info on the Blaser R8 rifle. I am planning on going on my first African safari in 2020. I am looking to purchase a professional package in 300win mag or a 375 H&H. Lots of info available on this website.

Welcome aboard. Lots of info and lots of helpful folks on here. Don't hesitate to ask questions. We all started not knowing much if anything about Blasers. Once you learn there's a good chance you'll be hooked.

Do you hunt in the states? If so maybe post some pics of some animals or areas you've hunted. Always enjoy looking at places we haven't been and probably will never get there.

Can't go wrong with a 375H&H it's as flat shooting as a 30/06 and hits like a freight train.
I used to hunt everything with a 375H&H from Rabbits up to Deer it really did it all.
I'm soft and I don't care.

I grew up on a small farm and always hunted deer as a kid/young adult. Once I got to my early 20’s I started to go out west and shoot prairie dogs. We did this for probably 15yrs. I then switched jobs and got away from that. Fast forward to now and my bow salesman had been talking about his African trips and that got me back into wanting to hunt again. I have been pretty much a shooter for a long time, now I want to get back into hunting again.

This is kind of what I want to here. It wouldn’t bother me to go with just a 375 barrel.
