Great to be part of the forum.

I live in SA and typically have been more active with the varied wingshooting opportunities we have down here. I have a Browning FN B25 in 12g and a Cesar Guerini Evo Ellipse in 20g.

I recently acquired an M03 Pure in 6.5 x 55 SE and an M12 in 9.3 x 62. Both with Swaro Z5 scopes.

Lots of great plains game and bushveld hunting close by which is a real privilege. Come and visit!

Its also good to have another Mauser M03 guy on the forum - I think the MauserBuds and SauerBuds are seriously outnumbered by the BlaserBuds!

Welcome to Baserbuds, hope you find it a good place to share your experiences. I've hunted both the bushveld of Limpopo and the plains of the Eastern Cape and the Freestate. What a beautiful and bountiful place to call home. I also enjoy the shotgun sports and have a friend I hunt with that uses a Cesar Guerini Evo Ellipse which is a very nice little gun. I personally shoot a Beretta DT11 Lusso for clays but stick to more utilitarian Benelli's for hunting. Anyway, I hope you find it warm and welcoming here. We try to be uplifting and avoid any negative chatter.

Thanks Robert, I appreciate the kind words. Great to share a common interest with the good people of Blaserbuds. We have our issues here in SA that’s for sure but it’s an amazing place to hunt. I’m a latecomer to hunting but the experiences we have here are amazing. It sounds like you have had good experiences in SA, which is great. Please come back we need need you to keep our systems and conservation infrastructure robust!

Whether it’s tracking Greywing on foot on the frosty ridges of the Stormberg or on horseback in the southern Drakensberg, Francolin on the Springbok flats, or PG in the remote kalahari, stalking with unbelievably talented local guides, it’s a real luxury. Even the rock pigeon experience is regarded by some as the finest Wingshooting on the planet. It’s cheap (or free) and close by and in some regions where they are so plentiful the season is year round. Bring your Benelli next time, the grains and beef farmers need you!

I’m yet to shoot DG and I think a buffalo may be on my list but I will make sure I’m proficient before I tackle that!
