New member from the UK
Hi guys,
I've just joined the forum and figured it would be good to introduce myself. My name's Neil and I'm a gardener/pest controller from Gloucestershire in the UK. I found the forum when I did a Google search for information on a Blaser BBF97 that I've just put a deposit down on. Due to our licensing laws it will be a while before I actually get it home, but I'm most of the way there now I've found one as they're pretty rare here!
It's a 12g /.308 Bavarian grade 3 - I'll put up some pictures when it arrives.
Anyway, I'm off to see what I can find in the way of info. It looks like a couple of the members here are familiar to me from other places so I'm not a complete stranger. I look forward to getting to know more of you as time passes.
Stay safe!

Nice gun to get into Blaser with, not many start with a break action so your ahead of the curve already.

Welcome Neil and a fine choice of Blaser.
There are a few Blaser BBF owners here who should be able to help if you run into any problems.
Next stop will be the BD14 to match

Re: New member from the UK
Thanks for your replies guys. It's not my first break action, I've shot a lot of deer with an old Brno combi 12g/7x57R which I sold to a friend years ago and replaced with a J.P Sauer drilling in 16g/8x60R. I still have that one but it's a labour of love - no factory ammunition available so I have to form it from 9.3x74R brass, and the old vintage scope it had on it has just broken so I'm set with the task of either finding a scope to fit the same dovetail size on the claw mounts or filing a new set of claws. It's a lot of expense or effort to sort so I've finally given up and bought something modern. I've waited over a year looking for a scope for the Sauer and I want to keep it original with period optics, so it's been retired to safe queen status until I find one!
I went for the Blaser partly because of the very common and reliable scope mounting system they have on their guns. We have lots of R8 users here so second hand mounts for my BBF shouldn't be hard to find. Funny you should mention a BD14 - I actually would really like a D99 but they're a bit more spendy and even less common!

Oh don't worry, the thing with Blaser's is once you decide that you really really want one then some how you find a way to bring one home.
