Finally finished my Duck hunting/Fishing boat.
As some may remember bought a little 11ft tinny of unknown make a while back, I fixed it up, wire wheeled the oxidation off, aluminum welded/brazing a leak in the seam (thank you YouTube I hadn't done that before) put it on a better trailer I had, sprayed it with etch primer and then two pack.
I later knocked up the removable seats, just painted the last one today and the fuel tank.
I fitted artificial grass in the floor (great on the feet) and four rod holders and a like new rare as hens teeth 5hp Evinrude outboard (Actually had to buy a boat and trailer to get it) and then picked up some oars from BFF yesterday and painted them up to match.
All in all its a ripping little boat for getting up rivers/creeks for ducks or getting over stumps and timber at Mulwala or around the snags at the Hume dam.
Best of all I don't need a boat ramp, you can launch it from any bank that you can get within a few meters of.
It's stable enough to stand in, but you have to watch your step a bit but if I could stand and reel in Sharks in one almost identical in the territory I'm far less worried about anything down here.
But for a lightweight, cheap, reliable and easy to maneuver boat that will get into the tight spots usually only a Kayak can I'm bloody happy with it.

I've tested her good, now to think of a name for her, I'm thinking HMAS INDASS
I've already done that.deerhunter338mag wrote: ↑Sun Jul 15, 2018 6:05 am Don’t forget to put the bung plug in. Nice job Speedy now go catch some fish.
But I'm taking her out 1st good day, one downside is it gets blown around a lot in strong wind, I have to tack it like I'm drifting.

Good, I still got to do my WIT, too many other things and not many tests being run down here.

I hardly need a seat for the missus, she can sit on my lap, she's only 42kg or 92.5 lbs.
I've owned dogs bigger then that, even in that boat she would hardly be effective as ballast.
