Looks like the Eley match and tenex are winners for you.

Your right about that ADI 223 ammunition Rod.
I only shot one five shot group.

There are some awesome groups there for your first session.
These Rimfire kits are a bloody nice way to get plenty of trigger time behind your hunting rifle.
Yes mate. Very happy with the R8 as a whole.

Cheers

Hi Rod

Just purchased a .22 lr kit for my R8, hoping it shoots as well as yours. Thx for sharing your experience with it, helps narrow down ammo selection. Expecting delivery mid next week. Covid lockdown dependant.

Had the rifle out yesterday trying out different batches of Eley Match and Eley HV HP. The HV HP averaged about.65 “ at 50 yards with 5 shot groups.

Also threw a target up at 200 yards just for a play. Breeze was right to left….up to about 10 mph. Rifle shot over a pack on the bench. Optika 5 ….2-10 rimfire scope, Eley Match ammunition.

Fired a string of 5 shots. Got 3 hits….figured 6 to 8 inches of wind. Patched the target and had another go.

Surprised and happy. Patched out and had another go.

Pretty happy with the R8.

10 ring is 3” diameter. Last 5 shots were under 2.24 inches.

With the right gear and someone who knows how to properly shoot bench rest I can only imagine what this rifle is capable of.

one for the tikka here. may not be a competition gun but i bought match ammo in 10 different models/brands/ versions. It liked one of the elay and the lapua match ammo v well, a little better than the Eley. The eley was all i could find 1,000 rounds for so thats what I went with. at 100 yards it shoots a ragged 1" hole. Even if you get a lithgow or vudoo, get a tikka. so much fun. I own a couple of CZ (BRNO) 22's and love them, but the tikka outshoots those.
My club does not let us take rimfires to the 2-500 yard range, but i take it with me to deer camp and we plink rocks in wind out past 200 and it is definitely a lot of fun.

My R8 prefers Eley Match which is hard for me to say because I am the engineer for Lapua and SK in the US and would love to say the opposite. My Vudoo V22 however makes me proud and performs with it’s preferred lot of Lapua match and SK Long Range well at 200, 300, and even 400 yards turning in less than 1 MOA groups on calm days or days where I have my wind call juju on.

The key is to have it on order, if you have only the notify me function most will fill all open orders and then notify you. Usually that is gone in one day. Millions sounds like a lot but not when there is backlog of tens of millions.
