It may take a while to produce best accuracy.

Good point - they (.22LR's) do seem to improve with shots through the barrel

Yes many do. I once had an incredibly accurate Anschutz 22 Rimfire that was pretty ordinary when I first shot it. I hope you find something your Rimfire likes. I still haven’t even shot mine yet.

Well a 1” mount arrived today and I decided to place a Kahles KX 2 - 7 x 36 scope onto the.22 barrel. Found a few packs of Eley Match ammunition and booked a session on the range for next Monday. Can’t wait to try her out.

I reckon that the Kahles will do for hunting. Still going to get a Nightforce scope as well but that will have to wait for a month or two.

Perfect scope choice for hunting. Looks great as well.
Keen to hear how you go at the range.

That the same scope I've got on my cheap little Stirling 14P.
I love having a scope on it that's worth about 8x what the rifle is.
Actually that's the same scope on my 30/06 and I'm going to buy another mount and put one on my 22 hornet as well.

Still my favourite scope of all time. 👍
I'm soft and I don't care.

I do love my Kahles scopes. Got me buggered why the 2-7's aren't more popular. I also think it would be a great choice for a K95. My favourite Kahles scopes are their 4x fixed.

The 2-7's are probably the most popular hunting scope that Kahles ever made, I've got absolutely no idea why they stopped making them?

Hi Rod,
I just gave my Rimfire kit a spin at Belmont. I am very impressed to say the least. Perfect function and no jams once I got used to it.
I was very impressed with RWS high velocity hollow points, I think you should give them a try in your barrel. It is very windy at Belmont today and definitely not Rimfire weather, but I had a play around anyway.
First I fired 10 shots into a target at 50 yards after three shots sighting it in.

Then I shot a few three shot groups which showed some very good promise, but the wind was making it very hard. In the end I was shooting horizontal groups. But again they showed promise when the wind eased occasionally.
I should mention that this was the only ammunition I tried, and I never cleaned the barrel before shooting. I just pulled a bore snake through twice.

Centre circle is 1/2”.
Centre to centre group is 4mm.

Anyway, I left you a box at Belmont with Mark, I think you should give them a go.
Just ask for Mark and he has them put aside for you.
Good luck.

Thanks Allan. Nothing wrong with your barrel 👍 and I’m fairly impressed that you got those groups with HV ammunition. I just got back from Cleavers....picked up a few extra boxes of ammunition to try.....but I never considered getting HV ......should have 👍

I’m booked onto Ripley for Monday but am planning a mid week excursion to Belmont....hopefully Wednesday. Will try out that RWS HV then. Thanks, I appreciate the thought and your generosity.

I’ll post up my results.

Np Rod, you have a good selection there to try.
Yes the HV stuff will be good for small game.
Try to pick your days carefully with the wind, if possible.

Strangely in my R93 the Winchester power points shot better then most subsonic ammunition with the exception of SK and Remington.

Then I just bought a heap of SK stuff and power points and then shot it until I sold it.👍

Yes they are.
I am really curious what ammunition Rods Rimfire kit likes / dislikes for that very reason, as it was probably manufactured at the same time as my mine.
