6.5X47 Lapua
I have been working with this rifle for a year, and it has been a lot of fun.
Finaly have pretty much determined H4350 is the best powder for this round, and working with anything else just wears the barrel out.
I really wanted to shoot 140 grain Berger Hybrids, but in reality, my chamber is not cut for a bullet that long. My barrel is only 22 inches, and while accuracy is pretty much there, I can tell the wind is playing havoc with the bullet probably only shooting 2600 ish. Decided after researching it, that I might out to go back down to the 130 VLD.
Loaded up five rounds with 39 grains H4350, and at 400 yards, I was able too make a 1cm, 1 click adjustment to my scope over what the 140 Hybrid was doing. Loaded up five more rounds with 39.3 grains shot two on the 6 inch gong that where barely one inch apart, but high and to the right. The wind had layed a bit, so I made another 1 click down, and left 1 click adjustment, and shot 3 on the 4 inch gong, that are barely 2.5 inches. I probably can go down another, and left another, but want to wait for warmer temps to shoot again. It is about 50 degrees today, and I want to see what it does at 70 to 80 degrees.
I have also decided my .287 neck bushing, may be a bit tight. Am going to order a .288 and .289, and fiddle with them a bit.
I know a lot of 6.5x47 shooters are using as much as 41 grains with this bullet, but I think they are running a bit hot at that charge.
One issue I have figured out, is the Savage accutrigger. I have it adjusted down a bit under two pounds, but it just does not break clean, or break the same from shot to shot. I am going to get a Rifle Basix match trigger next chance I get, and change it out.
I am about ready to start shooting at 500 yards, as soon as I sort a few more things out. Am very happy with my 2.5 inch group today, but realize that is not nearly as good as I can do. Will keep working on it.

Are you turning your necks? I have a 287 bushing, and decided I may have too much neck tension. Just got in the mail. 289 and 288 bushings to play with.
