I might be wrong but I believe Berger don't recommend the bullet hit an animal under 1800fps ???

I know the 210gr has taken sambar going 1600fps, but I wouldn't want to go much under that unless I was confident of a neck shot.

Thanks mate, young bloke didn't shoot it he just wanted one for he's room. Hes all excited about it. He's just starting to show some interesting in hunting so I said to him the next nice one I see I'll get it done. The area I shot this guy in is just too hard and steep for him and not really the best place to take him yet as he's only 10. The cooks not to excited about it but she will get over it

That's great that he's showing interest. I'm in the same boat, my ground is way to hard to bring the kids on, they're only 6 and 3, but every time I take the rifle down they beg to come. I've been letting them shoot targets in the back yard with a .22 to keep them interested.

I have a few spots I can take him towards the warm months of this year as I'll teach him to stalk 1st and a bit of bush skills. The missus and her brother have a fair bit of farm land so he is always out with me down there shooting at rabbits and foxes and heaps of paper. Gets him off the iPad

Nice one, I'm doing it to keep them away from it as much as possible myself.
