My Team Lost
The number 1 ranked Kansas Jayhawks were knocked out of the college national basketball tournament yesterday by an inferior team, a team so bad that I can't bring myself to even mention their name. To make things worse, our state rivals the highly ranked Kansas State Wildcats won by beating a very tough BYU team. So sad!
Well there is only one thing to do; GO Wildcats!

Re: My Team Lost
That was a surprise! I never expected Kansas to bow out that way. Self is a good coach, one of the best but it happens.
My Texas Aggies have a tough game ahead of them today. I'm hoping and praying that they can pull that one off... Texas went into the dumps this year. Very unusual for them to crash like they did. I suspect they'll reload and be back next year. A&M has some help coming next year too. Hopefully we can make it to the 16 and even better the elite 8... Sure be nice!
Having 3 NBA teams in Texas has done a lot for our college basketball teams. I recall the early days of the Spurs being here and only a handful of people even cared. Now basketball is right behind football in Texas high schools and colleges. If you'd have said that in the 60s people would have laughed at ya.

Re: My Team Lost
I'm pulling for all the remaining Big 12 teams to win in this year's tournament. I really wanted the Jayhawks to meet up with and beat the Kansas Sate Wildcats for the 4th time this year, but the Jayhawks didn't do their part.
The Auggies, Baylor Bears, and Wildcats all look really good. I had my doubts about the Missouri Tigers, but they looked really good in their first game.

Re: My Team Lost
The Missouri coach has had problems with keeping his team consistant, if he can keep the players heads in the the game they will do well.

Re: My Team Lost
Well the Aggies are done too. Dam close game but Purdue was 10 in the nation for a reason. Lost by two points so at least we didn't get blown out but we sure need that additional talent if we're going to be competitive deep into the tourney. It'll come, considering we lost our starting guard with a compound fracture in December and everybody wrote us completely off I think we did really very very good. But you hate for it to end. Still have Kansas St and Baylor left. Maybe they'll keep going. Baylor has some hosses that's for sure. Kansas St ain't shabby either.

Well, while ya'll are watching a kid's game, I am watching the US move one more step forward toward socialism. The health bill just passed...
It is truly a sad day to me an American.

Hate to tell ya but I've been watching the disaster as it went through. The bitch got it done and the Kenyan dictator should be happy. I certainly hope the courts will throw this debacle out.
They're comparing Osama to Reagan... give me a break! Nothing could be further apart.
The one saving grace is the taxes and penalties are going to go into effect 4 years before the freebies are handed out. That should discourage the welfare croud because they only see what they get RIGHT NOW. They are too dumb to understand the big picture so hopefully they will stay home the next election and if the pain (recession) is bad enough they won't come back out to vote for the Kenyan. We can hope. Unfortunately the pain is real for too many WORKING PEOPLE who have been kicked in the nutts by this idiot already. But yes a very dismal night in what used to be the United States of America.

Re: My Team Lost
I am feeling sick at my stomach watching pelosi give her "victory" speech.
What I want to know is what osama and pelosi had to promise to get the votes??? If those democrats who were on the fence and got promised "stuff" think osama and pelosi are actually going to deliver anything, they are about to be sadly mistaken. Those two don't have a problem lying, and that has already been well documented.
I know people right now who CHOOSE not to have health insurance. This bill will actually penalize them and force them into buying something that they don't want.
If a person truly CAN'T get health insurance, OK, lets help them out, but if someone just doesn't want to spend the money, leave them the heck alone!
Al Sharpton is on FOX right now, and he is a IDIOT! All he can do is run republicans in the ground and praise osama.

Re: My Team Lost
I'm going to cancel my health insurance tomorrow. Since insurance companies now can't deny coverage on preexisting conditions I'll apply for coverage after I get seriously ill. I know they have serious fines for not having coverage, but I think that portion of the bill doesn't kick in right away.
Some of the most serious portions of the bill don't take affect until after One Big Ass Mistake America's second term is over. I've got news for him, there won't be a second term and there will be a blood letting this November.

Re: My Team Lost
I made an observation on another board, and it was taken completely out of context and blown out of proportion.
Much of my wife's family are methodists (2 are methodist ministers), and I had a lively debate on facebook over the weekend about health care "reform" with one of my wife's cousin's husbands. He is unashamedly for the osama/democrat agaenda. Now keep in mind, he is an attorney and his wife is a doctor.
I have made the observation that from the people that I know there appear to be a large majority of methodist who do support the current administration, and I am baptist and don't know ANY baptist who support what is going on.
Can anyone here shed some light on this? Inquiring minds want to know...

Re: My Team Lost
Can't answer it based on religion. However I've come to the conclusion a long time ago that the forces that elected this idiot were the highly educated (I didn't say intelligent - there is a difference.) and the poverty poor ‘gimme’ welfare crowd. Now of course some of those highly educated idiots make a very good living, usually working for a public entity. So they've never run a business, have no business expertise, no clue on what it takes to make it in what I call the 'real world'. The ones that really come to mind are those over educated idiots in academia. They 'know' everything and couldn't hold a job at a gas station. They have their ideals about the world not being fair to the little guy and are convinced the big guy has to be a crook or he wouldn't have what he does. The fact that he 'has it' and usually employs a buttload of people who may earn very good livings by working for him is immaterial. HE is corrupt and thus shall be punished for not having given more of his wealth to those who earn it for him. In their opinion he is somebody to be brought down to earth. This is the true Obama supporter who marches in lockstep with this bunch of commie/socialist. Now of course they look the other way when it is some asshole like Bill Gates or Warren Buffet who make billions off of others when they could be happy with millions but they for some reason are exempted from this mentality. It is a tricky situation to get a handle on.retrieverman wrote:I made an observation on another board, and it was taken completely out of context and blown out of proportion.

I will add though that a good friend of mine is Jewish. It drives her nuts to see the liberal Jews supporting an administration that is the WORST enemy of Israel that’s ever existed in American history. And many of them still believe in Obama and his goals even if it means Israel being demolished. Again a strange situation that only the ‘believers’ know the answer to.
BTW I have heard that Baptist do not recognize each other in liquor stores…
