A couple of interesting things. No more zeiss or swarovski. There is a pic of a F3 with a sling attachment. The lightest weight of the R8 safari is 4.9kg compared to my 3.6kg R93 with a 416 Safari barrel.

You're a glutton for punishment Chuck! A 416 under 8 pounds is insanity.

In my experience R8s are not THAT much heavier than the comparable R93 so I got my R8 Pro Safari stock out and put my 416 Safari weight barrel and corresponding parts together to weigh. 9.27lbs or 4.21kg without scope or mount. This pro safari stock has a kick stop installed and the slightly thicker Blaser factory pad. It is not the “big bore” steel receiver stock. Perhaps that is the one you saw in the catalog? Or perhaps it was with a smaller bore safari weight barrel.

Its the last one listed in the safari section for the R8. If you took the kick stop out that will help. Or not lol!

Yet the physical damage lasts a life time.

But importantly, is there anything new coming out?
I'm soft and I don't care.
