One Million More March

A place to discuss regulations, or the over regulation in most case, that our members have to deal with in their respective countries. Hopefully discussion will lead to more rules based on common sense, rather than fears by the government.

This is the first I'd heard of this - you can tell I dont bother with Australian forums :|

Appears to have been an idea on facebook and grown a following in NSW https://www.facebook.com/buymoreguns/
One Million More March
January 17 at 4:46pm ·
Australia's Law Abiding Firearm Owners have dedicated March, 2018 as they month they target 1,000,000 additional firearm purchases.

The objective of 'One Million More March' is to encourage Australia's Law Abiding Firearm Owners to collectively purchase ONE MILLION MORE firearms during the month of March, 2018.

'One Million More March' is about Australian Law Abiding Firearm Owners taking charge of their passion and telling their elected representatives that they reject the 2017 Firearm Regulations and no amount of regulation or legislation will dampen their resolve to participate in the shooting sports.

'One Million More March' will see participating firearms retailers, an wholesalers, across the country offering incentives on New and Used firearms so dig deep, save your smokes & grog money and buy a new or quality used firearm during 'One Million More March'.

'One Million More March' will also see Australia's leading hunting and shooting organisations promoting and supporting this campaign.

How to get involved?

Buy a firearm for yourself, buy a firearm for your partner, buy a firearm for your children or buy a firearm for your grandchildren during March 2018.

Introduce a new shooter to the sport during March 2018.

Make sure you spread the word about 'One Million More March' to your hunting and shooting mates.

Encourage your local firearms dealer to get involved.

Tell your local hunting & shooting club about the campaign and get them supporting it.

This campaign is being run by Law Abiding Firearm Owners for Law Abiding Firearm Owners..........it's OUR campaign.

Get involved and make it a success!

An interesting strategy and here's hoping the organisers and spokespeople have the knowledge and ability to point out that:
Police data show steady increases in the number of people licensed to own firearms as well as the number of firearms legally owned. But despite growing levels of gun ownership, there have been ongoing declines in firearm homicides in Australia. The downward trend emerged in the 1970s and has continued to the present.

This suggests that, in Australia, more guns do not mean more gun-related murders.

I'd like a Diana AR8 but I fear there is only room in the safe for more barrels

1st I’ve heard of it. But why not, I might get a new slug gun.
Measure it, when it’s on the deck

I just want a very quiet .177 air rifle for fun around camp thats safe for shooting around buildings and will take out mice and sparrows and the ever dangerous coke can.
But some kind of shotgun that would be good on ducks and bunnies, maybe a 20ga.

Like the idea a lot. Support your cause with your wallet...

Wondering if we could get something like that done here? The gun business could certainly use the sales. Plus it never hurts to put more guns in the hands of the civilians. Could add a second month where the emphasis is buying ammunition. To spice things up get the manufacturers and retailers to knock a bit more off the retail number to encourage people to step up and get it done. Lots of promos out there already so it's not something that's going to bankrupt anyone. Be cool to blow the NCIS checks into the stratosphere.

I like the idea because of the stress it will put on our permit system, it will put them under massive stress and could pretty much shut them down effectively.
The more pressure you put in them the better.

Great idea but I would need to put a Permit to Acquire in now and maybe it would be thru by then. PTAs so far behind the legislated 28 day wait is laughable. :( :(

I think the aim is to put the PTA's in during March, the idea is to swamp them during March.
