Swarovski 3-9x36 on a rimfire?

I have always admired the little Swarovski 3-9x36.
It weighs just 340 grams , has a 1 inch tube and is very slim and compact. Perfect for a little rimfire carried in the field.

I am looking for a scope for my new Anschutz .22 and would love to put one of these on it.
I realise parralax is set at 100m which is not ideal for a rimfire, but would I really notice any issues in the field?
Especially given it only has a max power of 9, good quality glass, and a 36mm objective?

Am I right in assuming parralax is only an issue above 9 power and more a problem with scopes with a larger objective?

Talk me out or into it please?

I had an 8x50 Pecar on my .22 for a while and had no problems with parallax while shooting rim fire bench rest comps. Been meaning to put a 2-7x Kahles on it but Speedy keeps beating me to them....
The weight is right so go for it

Parallax is often confused with focus. There won't be much of an issue with focus beyond 20 yards or so, for closer than that does it really matter. Parallax however will be present even at 9X when your eye is off center of the axis of the scope. So you have a few remedies, you can make sure your eye is aligned properly, which is especially critical at short ranges. Or you can move to a scope specifically made for .22's with a parallax set at 50 or 75 yards, or move to scope with a an adjustable parallax.
If it were me, I would just accept that there is a little parallax that comes at the price of compromise. The reward is a light weight, compact, handy, and optically superior scope.

You should be fine, most people growing up all put a 3-9×40 on every rifle including rimfire's.
Right now I've got a 3.5-10×50 on my 22lr barrel, that's how much it bothers me.
I would love a 3-9×36 Swarovski on it, although I'd love a 2-7x36 Kahles for it.

I essentially have that same scope on a rimfire and have no problems.

Good call guys. I just mounted the little Swarovski 3-9x36 on my .22 Anschutz.
Although I have not shot it yet, I am extremely pleased with how the rifle feels in the hands and comes up to my eye perfectly.
Great little scope for certain applications, so glad I didn't buy a rimfire scope.

Can I get you to do a weird favour? Measure the diameter(S) of the button rivet that holds the cocking piece onto the bolt and sits in the bolt handle groove - I'm just wondering if an Annie one would work as a spare for a Mauser

Be very nice on my rimfire barrel, I'm running a 3-10×50 kahles and it's a very big scope for a little 22lr rifle.
