Hello from Alaska
Hello to the group. I just purchased and R8 with Arrowgun stock from a great guy here in Anchorage and am rapidly getting used to it for a deer hunt in Kodiak in about 2 weeks. I have been reading the posts and learning as much as I can. Thank you all for sharing your info on these amazing rifles.

Welcome, shaneak. Congrats on obtaining the world’s best hunting rifle. What barrel did you choose to start with? Please share a hunt report and pics with us after the trip.

Re: Hello from Alaska
Thanks for the welcome everyone. I'll be sure to post some pics. Rifle came with a 338 win mag and composite stock made by Arrowgun. This trip I will just be back up for my son and I'll be glad to have the 338 as our bear back up. I have a feeling I'll be on the lookout for another R8 for him soon!
If anyone is planning a hunt or trip to Alaska don't be afraid to contact me if there is any way I can help.

Re: Hello from Alaska
What you really need for bear is a 9.3x62 barrel, you know you need one.

Re: Hello from Alaska
Yes, it is an absolute requirement to have a 9.3X62 and 6.5X55 barrel for your R8
