Norma Pooping In The Nest
I actually Know this Jim fellow pretty well. A real stand up guy. I can see the new owners of RUAG not wanting to continue the relation ship, but they need to honor their contracts.

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
A marked and highly desirable difference between the libel laws in the US and in Aus. is that Jim is able to put what is (presumably) an accurate statement out there.
If he said that here, he would be sued, regardless of whether or not his statements are correct. Stinks !!
If that is all correct, that behaviour is about as dishonest and unethical as it can get.

The sad thing is, and we all know it. European company's more often than not, do a lousy job of marketing. Jim came up with an idea, ordered and stocked large quantitys of ammo. Kept prices reasonable and it sold through well. Now Norma thinks they can do better. They will run him out of business, do a crappy job of keeping an inventory , raise prices, and just suck like they only know how to do.

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
After a couple of unsatisfactory experiences, Norma has fallen in my eyes.
A pity their 180 30.06 Oryx load is such a good factory ammo choice for sambar.
I was unaware that they are part of RUAG. Does this mean that other brands under the RUAG umbrella are being managed in a similar manner ? RWS comes to mind. Has the RWS/ Brenneke stoush been conducted in a similar manner ? Who knows ?
This has the appearance of an unhealthy attempt at achieving monopoly status. Not good !!!

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
Definitely puts me off Norma that's for sure, and in the end it's going to cost them money and if they sell somebody else's patented ammunition in the US then they will get sued and loose.
They could have made good money selling bulk ammunition that was obviously custom ordered and everyone would be happy and their pockets full.
This isn't just bad business making, it's destroying your name and reputation.
No other business especially a smaller one will deal with a company like that, and a lot of gun shops won't want to deal with them either even if with their factory offerings.

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
That all sounded seriously shitty. Not much evidence that "you, the customer" was foremost in Ruag's mind......

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
Didn't they just stop making 22lr in Australia, and was their #1 seller.
If I can't buy goid Aussie made ammo then I'm buying euro made stuff.
I will just have to avoid anything made by Ruag, do no RWS®, Rottweil®, GECO®, Norma® and Hirtenberger® made stuff.
Good thing I like the SK rimfire ammunition.

I think both made a dodo.
But Norma ammo in sweden is real overpriced compared with the price on the same product from Norma in US.

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
Been reading a good bit about this. Hard to sort out facts. One thing that popped out , and I heard this a few years ago. All the ammo setting in primes warehouse was sold on consignment. Problem was only a few skus sold really well. RUAG had a lot of dollars worth of ammo just collecting dust. They then decided COD on new ammo orders and a payment plan to get them caught up with 3.5 million dollars worth of product that was not selling. They had paid this down to around 700,000 dollar balance when they made them cough up the funds to preorder the PRC ammo. Then kept the money and applied it to the 700,000 balance. Basically bait and switch. Do not take this as actually factual, as it is just key points I gleaned off the internet.

Re: Norma Pooping In The Nest
Evidently prime was starting up with ammo made in the USA, and now this update.
